1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the website at bharatsec.com ("Site"), its subdomains, or any services offered by Bharat Security ("BharatSec", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our Site or services.

We may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting. Your continued use of our Site after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Free Security Scanner

Our free automated security scanner at bharatsec.com/scan performs passive, non-intrusive checks against websites submitted by users. By submitting a URL for scanning, you represent and warrant that:

You are the owner of the domain submitted, or you have explicit written authorisation from the owner to conduct security testing on that domain.
You will not submit domains belonging to third parties without their authorisation.
You understand the scanner performs passive checks only (SSL/TLS configuration, HTTP security headers, DNS records) and does not perform active exploitation, injection attacks, or any intrusive probing.

Submitting a domain you do not own or are not authorised to test may constitute an offence under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and other applicable laws. BharatSec accepts no liability for any consequences arising from unauthorised submission of third-party domains.

The scanner results are provided for informational purposes only and do not constitute a comprehensive security assessment. Results reflect conditions at the time of scanning and may not represent the complete security posture of a website. A manual penetration test is required for comprehensive security evaluation.

We reserve the right to rate-limit or block scanner access without notice to prevent abuse.

3. Cybersecurity Services

Our professional services — including penetration testing, incident response, security consulting, and related engagements — are governed by a separate written engagement agreement ("Scope of Work" or "Service Agreement") entered into between BharatSec and the client organisation.

No professional engagement begins without a signed written authorisation specifying the scope, target systems, and timeline. Any testing conducted under a formal engagement is authorised and legal. Clients are responsible for ensuring they have the legal right to authorise testing of all systems included in the agreed scope.

Quotations and proposals submitted by BharatSec are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.

4. Training & Education

Courses and materials provided through BharatSec Academy (academy.bharatsec.com) are for educational purposes only. Skills and techniques taught are intended to be applied only on systems you own or have explicit authorisation to test.

Our Free Cyber Awareness sessions for schools and colleges are provided at no charge as a community initiative. BharatSec reserves the right to decline or cancel a session request at its discretion. Certificates issued for these sessions are for participation recognition only and do not constitute a professional certification.

5. Prohibited Use

You may not use this Site or any of our services to:

Conduct or attempt to conduct security testing on systems you do not own or are not authorised to test
Submit third-party domains to our scanner without authorisation from the domain owner
Engage in any activity that violates the Information Technology Act, 2000 or any other applicable law
Harass, threaten, or harm any individual or organisation
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, databases, or infrastructure
Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or overload our Site without prior written consent
Misrepresent your identity or authority when submitting forms or requesting services

We reserve the right to terminate access for any user who violates these terms and to report violations to relevant law enforcement authorities.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on this Site — including text, graphics, logos, software, scan reports, training materials, and documentation — is the property of BharatSec or its licensors and is protected under Indian and international copyright law.

Scan reports generated by our free scanner are provided to you for your personal and internal business use only. They may not be resold, redistributed, or published without our prior written consent.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission, except for brief quotation with proper attribution for non-commercial purposes.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our Site and services are provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, BharatSec disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to:

The completeness, accuracy, or reliability of any scan results, reports, or assessments
That our services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components
That identified security issues represent a complete list of vulnerabilities in a given system
Fitness for any particular purpose

Cybersecurity is inherently complex. Our free scanner provides a surface-level assessment and should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional penetration testing.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BharatSec shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) this Site or our services, including but not limited to:

Loss of data, revenue, or profits
Damages resulting from reliance on scan results or security reports
Damages arising from a security breach that was not identified by our scanner or assessment
Damages resulting from third-party services we use to operate our Site

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the free scanner shall not exceed zero, as this is a free service. Our liability for paid professional services is limited as specified in the applicable engagement agreement.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless BharatSec, its directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

Your use of our Site or services in violation of these Terms
Your submission of a domain for scanning without proper authorisation
Your violation of any applicable law or regulation
Any content you submit through our forms or services

10. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
